Jen has been traveling SE Asia since 2012, learning everything there is to know about specialty coffee in the region.
Jen can provide advice to prospective cafe owners about equipment, workflow design, and training; to baristas about improving their efficiency, coffee tasting and advanced barista techniques; to roasters and importers looking for new specialty green bean supply; to barista competition entrants about the coffee supply chain and unique farms, processing techniques and green beans; and to other social enterprises about responsible and sustainable business structuring and making a business plan.
Jen is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and Barista Guild of America, and is an SCAA/BGA certified Level 1 Barista and Instructor. Jen received sensory and roasting training from coffee guru Peter Wolff of Wolff Coffee Roasters in Brisbane, Australia. Jen also has extensive tasting training, which began with completing the Coffee Steward coursework from Counter Culture Coffee in the US. She got back recently from judging the 2015 Australia International Coffee Awards in Melbourne, Australia, and can't wait to smell the coffee flowers when they bloom in June and July.
